About wellbeing activities

Fortem Australia

Fortem’s Wellbeing Activities are free to attend for all eligible First Responders and their families/inner circles. To view our current events, head to the activities calendar.

Wellbeing Activities are a fun way for you and your family to get a taste of what Fortem offers. We have a number of different types of activities; all of which are are underpinned by the 5 Ways To Wellbeing – a set of practical lifestyle habits to help us be mentally fit.

  • Some are offered as a one-off such as a cooking class or zoo visit
  • Others are recurring, for example weekly walking or personal training groups

If you join an ongoing group, a commitment is recommended, however there is always flexibility. Select the dates you wish to attend on our activities calendar.

Due to popular demand, we are prioritising three one-off  activities per person. Please apply if you would like to attend more, and we will be in touch if places become available.

We are currently offering in-person Activities in QLD, NSW, ACT, VIC, NT, and WA.

The current communities we serve include; Melbourne, Gippsland, South East NSW, Canberra, Illawarra, Shoalhaven, Sydney, Newcastle, NSW Mid North Coast, Northern NSW, South East Queensland, Brisbane, Darwin, and Perth.

However, our virtual activities and resource library are available to anyone, anywhere, anytime.

Fortem’s Wellbeing Activities are free to attend for all eligible First Responders and their families/inner circles.

We know that every family is different, and that the meaning of ‘family’ comes from your own background, values, and circumstances.

Generally, we expect ‘family’ to mean the people in your inner circle – your household, or your closest support network. Let’s talk and work that out together; we want to help.

In some instances, wellbeing activities may have limited capacity, in which case we may need to limit the number of places available to each family.

Fortem’s Wellbeing Activities are underpinned by  the 5 Ways to Wellbeing: a set of practical lifestyle habits to help us be mentally fit. This evidence-based model is an effective strategy to improve mental health and wellbeing, based on substantial research.

Fortem Australia is an official partner of The Royal Melbourne Hospital’s 5 Ways To Wellbeing.

The 5 ways to wellbeing include:

  • Connect
