Crafting Through Lockdown

As lockdown extended throughout Victoria, families looked for ways to use this time to connect through doing positive activities together.

We sent out a series of art and craft kits to first responder families in various parts of the state. Kits ranged from simple paint sets for young children through to detailed arts for teenagers and adults.

We’ve enjoyed seeing their photos come through. From smiles on faces to families helping each other, not to mention beautiful finished pieces and new skills mastered, here are some highlights from this Fortem activity.

“The sharing between the kids has been great – it’s been a fantastic family activity.”

“It’s the first time I’ve done a paint by numbers, and I really enjoyed it!”

“My brother and I thought the kit was amazing, and very relaxing and fun to do. When it arrived, we couldn’t wait to get started!”

“My daughters loved the activity – plus it took them away from screens for a couple of hours.”
