‘Twas three weeks before Christmas and the weather was grizzly and cold.
Of course, that did not stop all the children and parents enjoying a fun-filled day of waterslides and wave pools at Jamberoo Action Park.
Little did they know that Santa had left the North Pole to visit the kids (and whiz down the waterslides) as well.
Many of the attendees for this wellbeing activity were returning participants who were happy to see each other again.
“It was fantastic to reconnect with others we have met on previous activities.”– Wellbeing activity participant
“It was nice to have a day out with my family and meet other families in similar situations.”– Wellbeing activity participant
The Fortem area was decked with Christmas tinsel and baubles, and food aplenty, while dads and sons, mums and dads, daughters and mums, brother and sisters all ran between the different waterslides.
“It was great to step out of my comfort zone, I loved seeing my family together and happy.”– Wellbeing activity participant
At lunchtime, Santa arrived with a bag full of gifts for the kids (and the kids-at-heart), to much excitement from all.
Most of all, the day gave first responders and their families time for an activity that was underpinned by the 5 Ways to Wellbeing, allowing the participants to connect, be active and present in the activity.
