First responder families came out to enjoy a day among the mangroves and spend time with family and friends, as well as meet some new people along the way.
SUP instructor Bec took everyone over to the sand area, where she went through some safety instructions and tips on how to paddle board.
With the basics covered, participants bravely headed out onto the water, which was freezing!
Everyone did really well and there were not too many falls into the water.
The paddle was great, and the families enjoyed weaving in and out of the mangroves at Minnamurra, watching the steam train cruise by, and making a few pelican friends.
All the participants stayed back for some morning tea and a chat afterwards, helping them to form new connections.
