Expression of Interest – Green Exercise Feel Good program | Melbourne
November 11 @ 10:00 am - December 30 @ 1:00 pm AEDT
An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Thursday, happening 8 times
First responders, join us to get moving in the great outdoors and feel good! Exercising is known to be of significant benefit to our physical and mental fitness. Being active outdoors in ‘green’/ natural environments has been shown to have an even greater impact on improving mental health and mental wellbeing. This 8 week ‘Green Exercise Feel Good’ program has been designed to improve both physical and mental fitness. The benefits of this program are best gained when attendees can commit to at least 4 weeks out of the 8 week program. However, as we understand the challenges of first responder rosters and unpredictable working commitments, there will be places kept free each week for participants to register for the green exercise activities that they are interested in and are available for, even if they are unable to commit to the entire program.
The 8 activities that will be included in the program are detailed below:
28 October: Beach Walk – Beach Side CBD
4 November: Trail bike riding through urban parklands – Inner North Melbourne
11 November: Learn to surf class – North West Metro Melbourne
18 November: Horseback trail ride – Regional, 1 hr North of CBD
25 November: Bush walk – TBC
2 December: Green Yoga – North East Melbourne
9 December: Forest therapy walk – East of Melbourne
16 December: Stand up paddle boarding (weather permitting) – Beach side CBD
This free wellbeing activity is for first responder families (check out Who We Serve here). Register individually, or with up to one other adult (your partner, family member or someone from your inner circle). Encourage a first responder colleague to register too.
