Float therapy

Pay off your sleep debt! Did you know 1 hour of floating equals 4 hours of sleep?

Floating involves resting on your back in a pitch-black tank filled with salty, skin-temp water. There is no light, no smell, no touch and no sound besides soft music at the beginning and the end of the float. The water is saturated with Epsom salt, making it so dense and buoyant, that you will float no matter what you weigh.

Once you’re comfortable in the tank, you can let go of any tension in your body and experience zero gravity — floating weightless and free.

This free wellbeing activity is for first responder families (check out who we serve here). Register yourself, and up to one other adult (your partner, family member, or someone from your inner circle). Encourage a first responder colleague to register too, or make connections on the day.

All Fortem Wellbeing Activities are underpinned by the 5 Ways to Wellbeing — a set of practical lifestyle habits which contribute to our overall mental fitness. This model by our partners at The Royal Melbourne Hospital is based on widely researched, effective strategies for improving mental health and wellbeing, and forms the foundation of all Fortem Australia events, programs, and activities.

Please register your interest in attending this activity by clicking on the Registration Form button below. Note, registration is not complete until you receive confirmation by email from the Fortem team.
