First responder families will have the opportunity to cruise up the tranquil Bega River, taking in the sights and sounds of the surrounding bush…. and testing out those arm muscles! This activity will provide an opportunity for first responder families to get outdoors and get active, to connect while enjoying the serenity of the secluded Bega River. Beginners will be able to learn the basics of kayaking, where as more experienced participants will be able to share their knowledge.

It’s is a great way to connect with other local first responder families and develop closer relationships in your own family, plus you can get active and enjoy being in nature. With this Fortem activity you can learn a new skill and can improve or maintain a healthy level of physical fitness, both of which can assist with building wellness, resilience and ways of coping with stress.

This free activity is for first responder families. For eligibility, find out Who We Support. Children must be 8 years and over. All equipment provided. Please bring sun protection (hat, sunscreen) and drinking water. Light snack provided.

This activity is weather dependent. Participants will be contacted if lesson need to be rescheduled or change location due to the weather. Fortem is currently monitoring COVID guidelines closely and may reschedule this event and notify participants accordingly.

Activity limits apply so register now (note registration is not complete until confirmation has been received from the Fortem team).
