Make A Clay Trinket Pot | Bega Valley Region
First responder families, join us for a creative morning that will rejuvenate your spirit and connect you with your inner artisan. Working with clay improves your mood, awakens creativity, and is a beautiful way to connect with family and make new friends. In this beginner’s class, you will learn how to use air-dry clay to create a trinket pot with a lid. You will learn how to mold your clay, make slip for gluing clay pieces together, and join the clay to create smooth edges.
All the materials, protective smocks and a light morning tea will be supplied, so you just need to bring a jumper, water bottle and your creativity. The clay pots won’t dry before the end of the workshop, so you will be provided with 2 clay disks to create sample artwork during the class and a take home kit so you can paint the pots later, when they are dry. Remember to bring your glasses if you need them for close up work. Please ensure that you arrive to the workshop 10 minutes early so we can get started on time, and prepare to get a little messy!
