First responder families, are you ready to be creative? Join us in a two hour pottery class in which you will make three unique clay trinkets using non-fire clay. You will learn the fundamentals of clay building, techniques, and how to use clay tools to carve and decorate your creations. You will then get to take all of your pieces home that night to paint or further decorate them how you like!
This wellbeing activity is a great way to connect with local first responder families whilst you craft, as well as develop bonds with your own family. An excellent way to gain the benefits of learning a new skill, this wellbeing activity also provides an opportunity for physical and mental stimulation which promotes self-esteem and contributes to self-identity. Crafting can be a mindful activity, allowing you to be ‘in the moment’ while creating your project and achieving a sense of accomplishment.
This free wellbeing activity is for first responder families (check eligibility here). Suitable for all skill levels. Children must be 5 years and over. Snacks will be provided. Fortem is currently monitoring COVID guidelines closely and may reschedule this event and notify participants accordingly. Restrictions apply in line with current COVID regulations.
This is a small group activity with limited places available, so please register your interest in attending this activity using the form below. Note, registration is not complete until you receive confirmation by email from the Fortem team.
