Come along and join us for an evening of ‘Disco Roller Skating’ at our local skating rink with games and music. Roller skating is a great way to keep fit while having fun with friends and family – get your roll on today! The sport of roller skating provides physical and mental health benefits through exercise and social interaction. It is a skill based sport that promotes balance and coordination, is heart healthy and strength training.
It’s a chance to spend time with your family or kinship group, being active, having fun and developing important bonds. It’s also great to socialise with other local first responder and their families. We have booked the party room, so it’s a central spot for our first responder families to connect. Developing close relationships and socialising with friends, family and others, is important for good health and wellbeing.
This free wellbeing activity is for first responder families (check eligibility here). Suitable for children, minimum age 3. There are no skating ability limits. Included is the hire of rollerblades and quad skates in sizes Jnr. 8 to Adult 13 (Junior 8 shoe size generally fits 3 year old). Participants will receive entry, the hire of skate and light refreshments on the night. Fortem is currently monitoring COVID guidelines closely and may reschedule this event and notify participants accordingly.
