Let’s celebrate International Family Day on 15th May with a fun-filled family-friendly day at the zoo for first responder families. Get started by exploring the zoo, seeing the animals in their enclosures and kids can fill out their activity pack. Return to the reserved private area for a delicious lunch to boost your energy and have a chat to the other participants about the animals you met. After lunch, there will be an exciting ride on the safari tour bus in the mid afternooon. Families are welcome to spend the rest of the afternoon looking at the animals or visiting the ranger station.
It’s a great way to spend time with your family or kinship group, be active, learn about the animals and the zoo, and develop close family bonds. It’s also great to connect and socialise with other local first responder families. Developing close relationships and socialising with friends, family and others, is important to build your mental fitness and boost your wellbeing. You will also get some low-impact physical activity, which is great to relieve stress and supports good mental well-being, from walking around the zoo.
This wellbeing activity is free for first responder families. Suitable for all ages. Weather appropriate clothing & wet weather gear, comfortable shoes, reuseble/refillable water bottles and picnic rug. Fortem is currently monitoring COVID guidelines closely and may reschedule this event and notify participants accordingly.
