Family Fun Park | West Gippsland
UPDATE: Please note the date for this wellbeing activity has been amended, now on 27th February, unless advised otherwise in email correspondence from the Activities Team. Participants who have registered have been contacted directly.
First responder families from the West Gippsland area, step into an exciting world of illusions, puzzles and mazes! Experience the fun, magic and adventure of the family friendly attractions. This Fortem activity is also a great way to work on being mindful. Attempting to solve these fun puzzles and challenges requires a person’s mind to be completely in that moment – this blocks out worries, and reduces stress. Mindfulness is the ability to be in the present moment, and it has a range of benefits in building mental fitness. These include greater self-awareness, building resilience, and helping to seek help when needed.
It’s also a great way to spend time with your family, be active and develop family bonds as the activities require teamwork, patience and problem solving skills. Plus you can connect and socialise with other local first responder families. Developing close relationships and socialising with friends, family and others, is important for good health and wellbeing. Broadening your social networks and range of relationships with others in the wider community, is also important for your wellbeing.
This activity is free for first responder families. Please note, this activity is at Phillip Island. Suitable for children when being registered as part of a family. Children must be supervised throughout the day. A café is available for purchasing refreshments. You will need to bring: money for refreshments, water, sunscreen and hats. Fortem is currently monitoring COVID guidelines closely and may reschedule this event and notify participants accordingly.
There are limited numbers for this activity. Please register below to express your interest in attending. Note, registration is not complete until you receive a confirmation email from the Fortem activities team.
