Shoalhaven region first responder families, join us for a stand up paddle boarding adventure on Currambene Creek. The one and half hour paddleboarding tour explores the river system that showcases all the stunning aspects of Jervis Bay, including amazing marine life, in a safe paddling location. We will stop off and explore the white sandy beaches, learn about the history of Jervis Bay, get up close and personal to the intricate Mangrove Forest and enjoy a refreshing drink before making our way back to our departure point.
This activity is a great way to connect with other local first responder families and develop bonds in your own family, plus you can get active and enjoy being in nature. SUP is a low impact exercise activity, which helps to work the entire body. It’s an exercise in strength and endurance that requires almost every element of the body to cooperate and pull its weight. This activity can improve or maintain a healthy level of physical fitness, both of which can assist with building wellness, resilience and ways of coping with stress.
This free activity is for first responder families. For eligibility, find out Who We Support. Children can be registered with a family, minimum age 10 years. All equipment provided. The activity will commence at 9am with about an hour and half paddle and should conclude around 11am. This activity includes light refreshments.
Fortem is currently monitoring COVID guidelines closely and may reschedule this event and notify participants accordingly.
