Kiah Kayaking Tour December | Bega Valley
Early risers see the river at it’s best! This early morning kayaking tour will take in the beauty and stillness of the secluded Towamba River. Listen to the bird calls as you peacefully glide down the river. All equipment and a delicious home cooked morning tea included
You will have the opportunity to connect with other first responder families, unwinding in the peace and seclusion of the bush. Kayaking offers many benefits – learning and sharing new skills, and also staying active. Being in nature gives you the opportunity to relax and unwind, whilst learning about the local area and native wildlife etc. Group activities help to connect families and strengthen community bonds.
This free activity is for first responder families. For eligibility, find out Who We Support. Children must be 8 years and over. Equipment provided, including a sit-on-top kayak, binoculars, 50+ sunscreen, fresh filtered rainwater. Morning tea, usually muffins or fresh fruit, plus plunge coffee or tea and juice.
Please bring towel, swimmers, hat, sunglasses, camera and mobile phone. It is preferable to wear shoes that can get wet – reef shoes, crocs, old sandshoes. Thongs are okay but can be difficult to walk in – in water. We can hire you a pair of reef shoes.
This activity is weather dependent. Participants will be contacted if lesson need to be rescheduled or change location due to the weather. Fortem is currently monitoring COVID guidelines closely and may reschedule this event and notify participants accordingly.
Activity limits apply so register now (note registration is not complete until confirmation has been received from the Fortem team). Please note: there is also a Kiah Kayaking activity in January too.
