Hey first responder families, have you always wanted to grow succulents? Get your hands dirty and make your own mini garden in a recycled pot using weird and wonderful succulents found in the garden. Then get some tips on how to keep them flourishing! This workshop is a great opportunity to develop bonds with your family, as well as build social connections with other first responder families, which are both important for wellbeing and mental fitness. Participants will be encouraged to express their creativity and boost well-being, as well as develop mindfulness techniques. Learning new skills and participation in gardening projects provides an opportunity for physical and mental stimulation which promotes self-esteem and contributes to self-identity. It can also provide a sense of achievement in creating a mini succulent garden to take home.
This free wellbeing activity is for first responder families (check eligibility). Suitable for adults. Fortem is currently monitoring COVID guidelines closely and may reschedule this event and notify participants accordingly.
