Illawarra region first responder families, join us for a one day retreat to a Buddhist temple where you will learn about meditation and being in harmony with yourself. Through meditation, you will learn to reconnect with your inner self. Spend a day in total relaxation, free your mind of negative thoughts, and learn useful mindfulness techniques to improve your wellbeing. You will also enjoy lunch from a wonderful selection of fresh, healthy vegetarian meals.

It’s a great way to spend time with your family member or kinship group, learn about mindfulness and develop family bonds. It’s also great to make social connections with other local first responder families. Developing close relationships and socialising with friends, family and others, is important to build your mental fitness and boost your wellbeing.

This free wellbeing activity is for first responder families. For eligibility, find out Who We Support. You may register another adult, or child 12+, to attend with you. Fortem is currently monitoring COVID guidelines closely and may reschedule this event and notify participants accordingly. Restrictions apply in line with current COVID regulations.

This is a small group activity with limited places available, so please submit your interest to attend this activity using the form below. Note, registration is not complete until you receive a confirmation email from the Fortem activities team.
