Online Lunchtime Fitness Sessions (New Dates Added!) | Sydney
Extended! Due to popularity, this wellbeing activity has been extended – new dates are 14th, 21st, 28th Sept and 5th October. You can attend 1, 2, 3 or all 4 classes.
First responder families, join us for a FREE lunchtime activity to get you moving. Keep up your strength and fitness through lockdown with these online group fitness sessions, over 4 weeks. The sessions, led by Fortem’s exercise physiologist, will focus on building strength, coordination and fitness – no equipment necessary. It’s also a great opportunity for those in lockdown to connect with other first responders at lunchtime and get fit together.
This group fitness class will meet weekly for 4 weeks.
Being active helps to build resilience and wellbeing, and plays a major role in maintaining mental fitness. It helps us to cope with stress, gives us more energy and confidence, as well as improving mood and quality of sleep. Challenging our minds with new skills, approaches, and information can improve our knowledge and thinking skills, increasing confidence, sense of purpose, and ability to cope with stress. This is a great way to strengthen family/kinship group bonds, as well as to broaden your social network through (virtual) connection with other first responder families. Connection is an important part of the path to mental fitness, and can take a protective role in maintaining wellbeing through increased feelings of happiness, security, belonging and self-worth.
This activity is free for first responders and their family/ kinship group member (check eligibility here). Suitable for participants minimum age 16, and all ability levels. Encourage your fellow first responder colleagues to sign up too!
This is a small group activity with limited numbers. Note registration is not confirmed until Fortem sends a confirmation email.
