Online Sketching, Drawing and Shading Techniques June | Virtual
Do you want to develop your art skills, as well as getting all the wonderful benefits associated with doing art? Join us for an online class each month where you will use easy purchase, low-cost art supplies, such as pencils and paper that you have at home. Each month you will learn a different skill and have a different theme. In this month’s Sketching, Drawing and Shading techniques class participants will be doing ‘botanical drawing’, such as flowers, leaves, trees etc. You will learn how to use techniques to bring dimension to your artwork.
Learning new skills and participation in art projects provides an opportunity for physical and mental stimulation which promotes self-esteem and contributes to self-identity. Art can be a mindful activity, allowing you to be ‘in the moment’ while creating your project, which contributes to happiness through being absorbed in the activity and achieving a sense of accomplishment. It’s also a great opportunity to spend time and develop bonds with your family, as well as connect with other first responder families online.
This free wellbeing activity is for first responder families (eligibility here). Suitable for all skill levels, and children minimum age 16 years. You will need to provide your own art materials for the workshop. Participants will be sent a list of supplies they need in advance. You will be provided with the zoom link to join the session. Participants will need a reliable internet connection with a device capable of supporting Zoom video conferencing.
