Parents and Play Group (0-11) | Gold Coast and Brisbane Regions
A new monthly Brisbane/ Gold Coast parents and playgroup for first responder families with children (ages 0-11). This playgroup is for all local responder families who want a safe space to meet other families with children to have morning tea and FREE coffee while the kids play in the activity zones! This wellbeing activity is a chance to socialise while the kids play, and create some great bonds and friendships with other local first responder families.
This is a great way to strengthen family/kinship group bonds and resilience, as well as to connect with other first responder families. Studies show that connection is an important part of the path to mental fitness, and can take a protective role in maintaining wellbeing in the face of repeated exposure to severe stressors.
For the kids, being active helps to build resilience and wellbeing, and plays a major role in maintaining mental fitness. It helps us to cope with stress, gives us more energy and confidence, as well as improving quality of sleep and reducing negative thoughts. There are zones for children aged 0-2, 2-5, and 5-11.
This free wellbeing activity is for first responder families (check eligibility here). Suitable for first responders registering with children (aged 0-11). Fortem is currently monitoring COVID guidelines closely and may reschedule this event and notify participants accordingly.
