Cycling Challenge | Virtual – Kangaroo Island
First responder families… get on your bike, track your km’s and see if you can ride, virtually, around Kangaroo Island. This Fortem activity involves accumulating km’s while cycling (anywhere!) which will contribute to your 400+km journey around Kangaroo Island. Get fit, get active and improve your mental fitness.
The challenge will run for 2 weeks, with the aim to cycle 400km in the 2 week period. There is a prize for the participant who finishes in the fastest time.
This activity provides a safe socially-distanced physical activity for our community nationally to participate in. In particular this virtual cycling challenge offers an opportunity for families in areas under restrictions such as Melbourne to participate in a physical activity-based challenge and work towards a goal. The feature of this app displaying kms against a virtual pre-mapped trail rather than displaying a users actual location is also a great safety feature for our law enforcement and national security community.
Individuals will need to download the Go Cycle app to participate and will receive free access to private Fortem section of Go Cycle app to participate in the challenge. Parents will have to give permission for children. Upon registering via Fortem website, participants will be provided with details to join the private Fortem section of the app. Thank you to Maglia Nera Tours and GoCycle app for supporting this challenge.
This event is open to first responder families (find out more about eligibility here) in Australia.
Note registration is not confirmed until Fortem sends a confirmation email.
