Virtual Ride | Tasmania Circumnavigation
It’s time to get on your bikes, track your kilometres and see if you can ride, virtually, around Tasmania. It’s a great socially-distanced physical activity to help you get active and improve your mental fitness, plus it’s open to first responder families across Australia (find out Who We Support here).
This event takes place from 7 November to 29 November 2020 during which time you aim to ride your favourite local routes, close to home, whilst accumulating your kilometres to achieve your ride distance. That may be 1,040km for a full circumnavigation or Full Map, 585km for the West Map, or 455km for the East Map. Find out more about the routes here. Note – Tasmanian participants may choose to download a map and take on the circumnavigation challenge (or part of it) in the Apple Isle itself. The event, which was originally planned to be held in Tasmania, has become a virtual event due to COVID-19 restrictions.
We are proud to have partnered with Maglia Nera Tours and GoCycle to bring you this awesome activity.
FUNDRAISING OPTION
First responders have protected our communities from bushfires and many other disasters. Our first responder families need support as they head into what will inevitably be a challenging summer of bushfire risk and pandemic regulations. Money raised through the cycling event will help them access wellbeing activities and psychological support.
Participants registered through Fortem. First responder families, you can choose to fundraise as you ride the virtual circumnavigation of Tasmania (discuss how the fundraising works with our Activities Coordinator). Or you can just participate in the ride for all the great benefits being active and challenging yourself will bring you!
Participants not registered through Fortem. Anyone can enter the Tasmania Circumnavigation ride and fundraise on behalf of Fortem Australia. Please find more details and registration here.
