Walk, Snap, Explore – September | Illawarra
This Walk, Snap, Explore activity involves spectacular rainforest, waterfall and canyon views. Amble along the elevated walkway and paved track, taking in the trickling streams, moss-covered rocks and feathered ferns beneath you. Soak up the breath-taking views over the rainforest canopy and canyon, and take your time at the viewing platforms at the falls before joining us for morning tea. You can use your phone/ camera to snap some photos along the way. The walk will take approximately 1-2 hours.
Walking is a means of improving and maintaining physical health, improving sleep patterns and relieving stress for your mental health. Physical activity in nature can help lift mood through improved fitness and the release of natural chemicals in the brain . This walking activity is also a great way to spend time with your family or kinship group, be active, challenge yourself and develop close bonds. It’s also great to connect and socialise with other local first responder families. Developing close relationships and socialising with friends, family and others, is important for good health and wellbeing.
This free wellbeing activity is for first responder families (check eligibility). Suitable for children 12 years and over. BYO Hat and Sunscreen. lease note, as we are walking through the natural environment, there are some hills, uneven surfaces and stairs. Inclusions: opal card for the train ride back, beverage and cake. This activity is weather dependent. Participants will be contacted if the walk needs to be rescheduled or change location due to the weather. Fortem is currently monitoring COVID guidelines closely and may reschedule this event and notify participants accordingly.
