Walk, Snap and Explore | West Gippsland
Walk, Snap and Explore is a great opportunity for first responder families to get out and explore the local area, be active and make connections. Bring your camera or phone for taking snap shots of items of interest or intrigue… or your own selfies! There will also be a scavenger hunt with a prize at the end. There will be a walk on 6th January and another on 13th January.
The walks will take between 30-60 minutes and be an easy level of difficulty. This is a social connection activity for families as participants are encouraged to connect and interact with their own, as well as other families. This activity aims to contribute to the development of close family relationships. Good personal relationships are protective for wellbeing. Walking is a means of improving and maintaining physical health, improving sleep patterns and relieving stress for your mental health. It can help lift mood through improved fitness and the release of natural chemicals in the brain.
This activity is free for first responder families. Suitable for children 3 years and over. Light refreshments will be provided. Participants must bring your own water, and wear suitable walking shoes and clothes, hats and sunscreen. Participants are advised to seek advice from their medical practitioner before participating if they have a medical condition.
