Weekly Fitness Training | West Gippsland
West Gippsland first responder families, are you ready to get physically and mentally fit? Join us for a weekly 45 minute fitness session. These sessions will vary from week to week with a combination of cardio, strength, endurance, boxing, self defence and other fitness activities. The fitness instructors are passionate about giving you a great workout while paying particular attention to the correct technique. All these fitness activities are suitable for all levels of fitness and experience and can be adapted to cater for individual needs.
Fitness classes help by improving & maintaining physical health and relieving stress and tension for your mental fitness, plus this activity will help you to connect with your first responder community. Not only this activity great for improving wellbeing through being active, but it also allows participants to connect with each other through weekly sessions, learning new skills and being mindful – completely focused on the activities at hand, helping to reduce and manage stress.
This free wellbeing activity is for first responder families (eligibility here). The activity is suitable for adults. You can register an additional adult, or teenager aged 16 years or over, from your family to attend with you. While the goal is for participants to commit to these weekly fitness sessions to gain maximum benefit, there is flexibility for shift workers and on-call volunteers. You will need to bring a towel, water bottle and have closed in shoes and exercise clothes. Fortem is currently monitoring COVID guidelines closely and may reschedule this event and notify participants accordingly. Restrictions apply in line with current COVID regulations.
