Weekly Yoga – Lockdown Activity | Virtual
Are you ready to downward dog, chaturanga or just stretch and breath? Yoga continues! These classes will run for another 4 weeks and have been designed for first responders and their families to encourage an uplifted and calm feeling in the body and in the mind. Join us from the comfort of your home.
Dates: 23rd August, 30th August, 6th, 13th, 20th & 27th Sept, 4th October. You can attend one or all classes! (Select dates on the registration form for the sessions you would like to attend).
These classes are open to all fitness and flexibility levels, and children are more than welcome to join in. Classes will generally involve:
- 5 minutes meditation
- 10 – 15 minutes range of motion
- Flowing movement and breath
- Relaxation practice
The focus of the class is to move mindfully with your breath, relieve muscle tension, improve range of movement, and calm the nervous system. The experienced yoga instructor will support participants in learning yoga postures that are simple, slow, and designed to flow at a pace that is easy to follow.
An instructor from Frontline Yoga will be taking the class. Participants just need mat or towel on carpet at home and some water. You will need a reliable internet connection with a device capable of supporting Zoom video conferencing. You will be sent a link when your registration is confirmed.
This activity is free for first responders (eligibility here). This yoga class is suitable for all ages and ability levels. Frontline Yoga teachers are experienced and can provide modifications to suit individual requirements.
This is a small group activity with limited numbers. Note registration is not confirmed until Fortem sends a confirmation email.
