World Mental Health Day – Family Learn to Surf | Wollongong

Join us for a morning of learning to surf followed by a picnic lunch.  A great way to connect with other local first responder families, plus you can get active and learn a new skill during this 2 hour surf lesson!

This Fortem activity can help improve and maintain a healthy level of physical activity, which can assist with building wellness and resilience, coping with stress, and is positively associated with mental fitness. Connecting to nature and spending time outdoors is associated with greater levels of happiness. Fortem activities can also contribute to improved connection with family and peers. Good personal relationships are protective for wellbeing.

This activity is free for first responder families. Children can be registered as part of a family, minimum age 4 years. Children must be supervised. Surfing equipment is provided.

This activity is weather dependent. Participants will be contacted if lesson need to be rescheduled or change location due to the weather/surf conditions. Fortem is currently monitoring COVID guidelines closely and may reschedule this event and notify participants accordingly.
