This survey is a precursor to the Fortem Leadership and Mental Health Summit which aims to build greater collaboration between Australia’s emergency service organisations. Survey outcomes will be published along with a summary of the Summit to provide a mini database of the various systems of health and wellbeing support, education, activities, and treatments available to service personnel and their families across the sector from both internal and external providers.
It is expected that agencies of differing size, development and resources are participating in this process, therefore it is expected that there will be highly disparate systems in place. The intention is to assist in consolidation and possibly shared resourcing for more established agencies, while also encouraging the growth and alignment of systems in less established agencies.
It is also assumed that there will be different departments and teams able to contribute to the completion of such a document for each individual agency and we encourage the Welfare, Wellbeing, Health, Activities and Social teams or others seen as relevant (e.g. Chaplaincy/Pastoral), embedded in the agencies to each respond to this survey.
