The recent line-up of engaging, entertaining, and educational Fortem activities on the NSW Mid North Coast has been incredible.
Fish Port Macquarie led another fantastic fishing charter in August – an experience always in high demand, with participants quick to register.
A retired NSW Police Officer, now volunteering with Marine Rescue NSW brought the two agencies together for this fishy adventure.
It’s a story we hear often at Fortem as people transition from the paid workforce and choose to serve their community in a new voluntary capacity.
“I wouldn’t have done it if it wasn’t for Fortem,” one participant said.
For the crafty types in the local community, the recent resin tray making class broke up the lockdown blues.
Usually held as a face-to-face activity, the class was facilitated via Zoom by instructor Skye from Arthouse Industries.
The dance-break that participants initiated while waiting for the resin to set was a surprise highlight.
“That was unreal,” one maker mused.
Port Macquarie is perfectly placed to make the most of the yearly Humpback Whale migration, and Port Jet Cruises helped first responder families make the most of this spectacular event.
The reviews speak for themselves; “a fabulous family adventure. The skipper was awesome. Played some fun tunes on the way back in and we enjoyed some rare time all together as a family.”
“Kids rated it 1000 out of 10. The feeling of being able to relax and see their huge huge smiles (the whales and the kids!) was awesome.”
“Bloody awesome time,” one participant said.
“Had a blast meeting new people, was definitely out of my comfort zone, but it showed I was capable, and I’ve really been doubting that of late. Plenty of laughs.”
“Fantastic day! My kids have not stopped talking about it. Thoroughly enjoyed it!”
