Fortem Australia congratulates Mr Andrew Colvin APM OAM on his appointment to lead the National Bushfire Recovery Agency.
“I am humbled and honoured to have been asked by the Prime Minister to lead the national recovery efforts from the unprecedented bushfires which have ravaged much of our country.
“This role was unexpected and is an enormous responsibility. I am wholeheartedly committed to ensuring that communities in need receive the support and services they so desperately require,” said Mr Colvin.
Mr Colvin has officially resigned as Chairperson for Fortem Australia, effective immediately, to focus his efforts on Australia’s bushfire recovery.
“Despite my short tenure, it has been an honour to serve as the Inaugural Chairperson of Fortem Australia since my appointment on 4 December 2019,” said Mr Colvin.
Managing Director and Co-Founder of Fortem Australia, John Bale, thanked Andrew for his contribution to Fortem Australia and raising awareness of the need to support the mental health and wellbeing of first responders and their families.
“Andrew has had a distinguished career and we are grateful to have had him serve as our inaugural chairperson of Fortem Australia.
“With his extensive experience in the management of crisis there is no better person in Australia to lead the national bushfire recovery efforts in Australia.
“Andrew will be difficult to replace, but we wish him all the best in his new role,” said John.
