David Dutton BM ASM, New South Wales Ambulance Deputy Commissioner and Executive Director, Clinical Operations.

David joined NSW Ambulance in 2013 after twenty years working in the ACT Ambulance Service. His career began as a student paramedic and included working in road and aeromedical operations, clinical education, emergency operations, operational support and senior executive management roles.

David has a strong interest and wide range of experience in emergency management, including as a responder to the 1998 Sydney-Hobart Yacht Race Disaster, operational commander for the 2003 Canberra Firestorm Disaster and executive manager for the 2014 Lindt Café Siege.

In 2018 he was appointed as Executive Director Clinical Operations and promoted to Deputy Commissioner, where he currently leads a team responsible for answering over 1 million Emergency Triple Zero calls a year and responding across NSW from Tweed Heads to Tathra and Bondi Beach to Broken Hill and beyond.
