An exciting opportunity to learn a new skill and make your own piece of silver jewellery was on offer to first responder families in Shoalhaven. Fortem Australia hosted a Silversmithing ‘Ring Stack’ Workshop wellbeing activity. Our participants learnt essential silversmith skills whilst really focusing and being in the moment when crafting their rings. It was also a great way to connect with other first responder families.
Participants learnt how to create their very own piece of silver jewellery in this beginners workshop. They each made two 1mm thick rings and one 1.5mm ring to arrange as a fine stacker ring. They learnt the traditional Silversmith techniques including soldering, sawing, forming, hand texturing and finishing. Each of the participants received three pieces of silver wire to create their masterpieces.
A delicious morning tea was also provided and enjoyed during the workshop, giving our participants a chance to connect.
A big thanks to Naomi from Appleye Jewellery for facilitating this workshop. Her expertise and energy, and natural way of making people feel comfortable, really enhanced the experience our first responder families had during this workshop. Also gratitude to Zoe from The Bearded Brewer for her kindness and friendly welcome.
“Loving the activities and taking the time to spend with my family. Thanks again for another great workshop.”
