Our Transition & Employment Program supports first responders and their family members looking for new life and career opportunities following service with state and commonwealth emergency and security agencies.

The end goal is to enable a smooth, supported transition into the next meaningful chapter of life.

Starting 1 July, 2021, phase one of our national program will focus on supporting transitioning members from Australia’s national security agencies, including:

  • Australian Border Force
  • Australian Federal Police
  • State-based law enforcement agencies

Phase two, will support all national security agencies, and ALL state based first responders and their families. We are currently working towards rolling out this part of our program during the second half of 2021.

Initial contact with our team can be via agency or self-referral.

Our Transition Engagement Officers come with lived experience and offer a personalised approach based on the unique circumstances of each first responder family. The team comes with experience in first responder agencies and have all travelled the career transition path. Collectively they have over 50 years’ experience, with specialist training and skills to support transitioning first responders.

Our Transition Team offers:

  • One on one case management
  • Introductions to our Pledge Partners
  • Career direction and goals
  • Resume and job application support
  • Interview coaching, networking and personal marketing support
  • Training opportunities that recognise prior learning
  • Peer mentoring
  • Post-employment support
  • And more
