SUMMARY:8-week Mindfulness Program
DESCRIPTION:Fortem would like to offer First Responders and their families the opportunity to attend an online 8-week mindfulness-based skills group starting Wednesday\, 18 June 2026 at 11am. \nThis online 8-week mindfulness group program is a series of structured 2 hour sessions led by Fortem’s Clinical Team Marnie and Mel. The sessions involve guided mindfulness exercises\, discussions\, and cognitive exercises aimed at recognising and challenging negative thinking patterns. Participants are encouraged to practice mindfulness techniques outside of group sessions as well. \nThe aim of this 8-week program is to enhance self-awareness\, promote well-being\, and develop more adaptive ways of responding to challenging thoughts and emotions. \nThis free program is for First Responders and their family members. The group is designed for adults. Handouts and audio mindfulness recordings will be provided through the online portal. \nAll Fortem Activities are underpinned by the 5 Ways to Wellbeing: a set of practical lifestyle habits which contribute to our overall mental fitness. This model by our partners at The Royal Melbourne Hospital is based on widely researched\, effective strategies for improving mental health and wellbeing\, and forms the foundation of all Fortem Australia events\, programs\, and activities. \nThis is a small\, closed group activity with limited places available.
