World domination with kayaking! | Illawarra Region Activity Wrap Up

Fortem Australia recently hosted an amazing kayaking session on Kiama Harbour, which was facilitated by Lands Edge. Our first responder families came along to enjoy the morning along the lake. It was a great opportunity to meet new people and hang out with friends. Plus the group got to learn some new skills, be active and just enjoy being in nature! Alison reports on the wellbeing activity:

“We were so lucky with the weather, it was just beautiful! The water was a little choppy at times as the wind picked up, but as we moved closer to shore it was calmer.

We played a number of games with the kayaks, such as rafting, world domination where each kayak choose a country and to gather other countries you needed to triple tap the front or double tap the back of the kayak – Scotland won the first game and I think Greece won the second.

The last game we played was a ball game, where we were split into two teams, and it was a race to shore. With this game you could only hold the ball for 3 – 5 secs before you had to pass it to your team mates…it was a lot of fun and great to see some friendly competitiveness!!

Once we were at shore, we had a picnic with some light refreshments before everyone headed off to explore the rest that Kiama had to offer. Thanks Mark, Maddy and the Crew from Lands Edge for a fun-filled day.”
