Port Macquarie and surrounds Emergency Services Ball returns for 2026

The Port Macquarie and surrounds Emergency Services Ball is set to return on Friday, 22 May 2026, building on the success of its inaugural event and continuing to grow as a meaningful opportunity to recognise and support local first responders.

Originally established in 2025 by two local paramedics, the ball was warmly received across the region’s emergency services community, bringing together personnel from NSW Ambulance, NSW Police, Fire and Rescue, SES and partner agencies in a rare moment of connection outside of operational demands.

For 2026, Fortem Australia has joined the planning team, strengthening coordination, promotion, and regional reach, while also embedding a stronger focus on first responder wellbeing and ongoing support.

Invitations have already been distributed across established emergency service networks from Forster to Kempsey, with continued promotion through agency channels, Fortem’s networks, and word of mouth.

More than a formal event, the ball provides a valuable space for first responders and their families to step away from the pressures of their roles, connect with peers, and be recognised for the critical work they do every day.

Attendees of the 2025 event described a strong sense of camaraderie and shared understanding, highlighting the importance of opportunities that strengthen interagency relationships and support mental health and resilience.

With growing attendance, increased cross-agency participation and strong community support, the Port Macquarie and surrounds Emergency Services Ball is fast becoming a talked about annual event, one that not only celebrates service, but contributes to the wellbeing, connection and resilience of those who protect the Port Macquarie-Hastings community.
