Filling cups and sharing gratitude this Thank a First Responder Day

This Thank a First Responder Day, there’s a new addition brewing in first responder stations across Australia, custom mugs filled with gratitude.

Thanks to the generous support of Promotion Products and their Hand-Up Program, Fortem Australia was awarded $1,000 in merchandise support to help bring the initiative to life.

The result? A collection of custom Thank a First Responder Day mugs featuring children’s artwork and heartfelt messages of appreciation for first responders and their families.

And honestly, our team is a little obsessed with them.

Designed to brighten station kitchens, sit beside laptops during late-night paperwork, and accompany early morning coffees before shift, the mugs are intended to serve as a small but meaningful reminder that communities across Australia recognise and appreciate the work first responders and their families do through all hours of the day and night.

The mugs will now be used as part of our gratitude initiative leading into Thank a First Responder Day on Wednesday, 10 June 2026.

We’re also hopeful this is only the beginning, with many more mug designs, community-created artwork collections, and messages of gratitude still to come in the years ahead.

The initiative forms part of Fortem Australia’s broader Thank a First Responder Day campaign, which encourages schools, workplaces, councils, businesses, libraries, and community groups to recognise the people who show up for others during some of life’s most difficult moments.

Fortem Australia would like to sincerely thank the team at Promotion Products for backing the first responder community and helping bring this idea to life.

Because sometimes a simple mug can carry a pretty powerful message.
