Day 9: Thank you to those who respond from the air.

From patrolling the suburbs to search and rescue missions, supporting fire fighting efforts and responding to medical emergencies, it’s comforting to know that there are first responder eyes in the sky, helping to keep us safe.

Today is Day 9 of Fortem’s 10 days of gratitude – a day to say thank you to all the first responders who respond from the air.

The 10 days of gratitude is a celebration of all that first responders do to support our communities ahead of Thank a First Responder Day on Wednesday 11 June.

Now in its sixth year, Thank a First Responder Day creates a clear and resounding voice of gratitude for the frontline workers and volunteers who do so much, often for very little thanks or recognition. It was created by Fortem Australia, the nation’s leading independent and not-for-profit organisation supporting the mental health and wellbeing of first responders and their families.

Our first responders in the air provide critical support to those on the ground. They can access remote and otherwise inaccessible areas to provide support or supplies, respond quickly, provide technical imaging assistance, fight fires and provide an important aerial view.

To those who respond from the air, today we say thank you.

Don’t forget to share your love for all first responders and their families do with our Triple Zero with Heart symbol 0❤️0. Draw it on your hand, snap a photo and share it on social media during the 10 days of gratitude. Let’s get the whole country involved in showing our gratitude! #ThankAFirstResponder #PowerOfThanks #TAFRD

You can also leave a message of gratitude on the Thank a First Responder Day website at Gratitude Gallery – Fortem Australia.
