Register for our free mindfulness program

Mindfulness plays an important role in good mental health and Fortem will host a free eight-week online mindfulness-based skills program starting in May for first responders and adult family members.

Participants will meet online in weekly two-hour sessions led by Fortem’s clinical team of Kiani and Mel, who will provide guided mindfulness exercises, discussions, and cognitive exercises aimed at recognising and challenging negative thinking patterns. Participants will also be encouraged to practice mindfulness techniques outside of the sessions.

The program aims to enhance self-awareness, promote wellbeing, and help participants develop more adaptive ways of responding to challenging thoughts and emotions. It includes a workbook, available through the online portal, which will help guide participants and become a resource they can look back on.

Limited places are available and participants must commit to attending each session across the whole eight weeks. Final dates and times are to be confirmed based on the availability of participants.

To register your interest, click here and Kiani or Mel will contact you to confirm registration. For more information, email psychology@fortemaustralia.org.au or phone 1300 33 95 94.

All Fortem activities are underpinned by the 5 Ways to Wellbeing: a set of practical lifestyle habits which contribute to our overall mental fitness. This model by our partners at The Royal Melbourne Hospital is based on widely researched, effective strategies for improving mental health and wellbeing, and forms the foundation of all Fortem Australia events, programs, and activities.
