Fortem Australia partners with Taronga Western Plains Zoo for Thank a First Responder Day

Fortem Australia has partnered with Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo to offer first responders and their families an incredible gratitude event ahead of Thank a First Responder Day.

To celebrate the day, Fortem and Taronga Western Plains Zoo are inviting 150 first responders and family members for a fun-filled Saturday out at the zoo.

It is one of numerous events being held around the country during June to say thank you to those people who do so much to support our community in our times of need.

Fortem CEO Mick Willing APM and Fortem ambassador and retired Dubbo police officer Mark Meredith APM OAM will be in attendance at the zoo and can’t wait to be able to say thank you in person to local first responders and their families.

“First responders do so much to support their local communities, as do their families, and it’s wonderful to be able to say thank you with this fantastic event,” Mick said.

“I would also like to extend my gratitude to Taronga Western Plains Zoo whose incredible generosity and support has made this event possible.”

Thank a First Responder Day will be held on Wednesday 11 June 2025 and provides an opportunity for the community to say thank you to first responders and their families.

This year, the day will be preceded by 10 days of gratitude, which includes a day of gratitude for first responder families on Saturday 7 June

First responders and their family members who would like to attend the event can register at https://fortemaustralia.org.au/event/tafrd-zoo-day-dubbo/
