Police officer takes on 12-hour fitness challenge in Budgy Smugglers

A NSW south coast police officer will take on a 12-hour extreme fitness challenge wearing nothing but Budgy Smugglers for first responder mental health and wellbeing.

On Wednesday 10 September, Todd Cremer will undertake 12 for the Brave consisting of back-to-back high-impact fitness sessions over a 12-hour period, representing the typical shift of a first responder.

He will use the challenge to raise awareness of the mental health and wellbeing challenges that first responders can face, while also hoping to raise $50,000 for Fortem Australia, an independent not-for-profit organisation that supports first responders and their families.

“I used fitness as a way to lose weight when I joined the State Protection Support Unit, then went on to use fitness when working on programs to help divert at-risk men and youths from self harm,” Todd said.

“I’m also a big supporter of Fortem’s work. My family attended a social connection event some years ago, and then I later used Fortem’s clinical support services following a major incident at work.

“I want to ensure first responders know that in addition to the support services they have at work, services like Fortem’s are also there to support them and their families.”

Swimwear brand Budgy Smugglers are supporting Todd in his challenge and will award a limited number of vouchers to people who get on board with helping to promote the challenge.

Todd is also encouraging others to take part by joining him for some or all of his 12-hour challenge which will be livestreamed on his fitness channel @SWATFITPT on Instagram.

He’s also asking for suggestions for his workouts, with 12 different sessions to be conducted over the 12 hours.

Fortem Australia CEO Michael Willing APM praised Todd’s commitment and bravery in undertaking such an extreme fitness challenge in just a pair of Budgy Smugglers.

“Todd’s enthusiasm and drive to raise awareness about mental health and wellbeing while also raising funds for Fortem’s work is nothing short of incredible,” Mick said.

“On behalf of everyone at Fortem, I would like to thank Todd for his support and for advocating for the importance of movement and activity in building strong mental health.

“I encourage the community to get right behind him on this extraordinary challenge.”
