Fortem Australia responds to the Bondi shootings during the Jewish festival of Hanukkah

Fortem Australia expresses its deepest condolences to all those affected by the shooting near Bondi Beach yesterday, which occurred during a community Hanukkah event.

Michael Willing APM, Chief Executive Officer of Fortem Australia, said:

‘Yesterday’s events at Bondi are heartbreaking. Our thoughts are with the families and friends of those who have lost loved ones, those who are injured, and the Jewish community who were gathering to mark the first night of Hanukkah. We stand in solidarity with you.’

‘I want to acknowledge the courage and professionalism of the NSW Police officers, paramedics, emergency call‑takers, and first responders who ran towards danger to protect the community. We know the impact such traumatic incidents have on our emergency services workers, both immediately and in the days and weeks that follow and Fortem is here to support you.’

‘For the police officers and emergency services personnel on scene, and for those coordinating and supporting the response from control rooms and hospitals, please remember, you do not have to carry this alone,’ Mr Willing said.

Fortem is committed to supporting the wellbeing of first responders and their families and stand ready to assist in the coming weeks, months, and years.
