Day 3: Thank you to those who respond on the roads.

Every day, first responders travel Australia’s roads ready to help people in moments of crisis.

Today is Day 3 of Fortem Australia’s 10 Days of Gratitude, recognising the first responders who respond on our roads day and night.

Police officers, paramedics, firefighters and volunteers attend crashes, emergencies and incidents in all weather conditions, often working in fast-moving and high-risk environments.

For many Australians, the sight of flashing lights on the roadside is a reminder that help has arrived.

These responders dedicate long hours to keeping communities safe and supporting people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

Their work can be physically and emotionally demanding, requiring quick thinking, teamwork and resilience under pressure. Despite these challenges, they continue to show up every day to help strangers in need.

Today we say thank you to every first responder who works on our roads, and to the families waiting for them to return home safely after each shift.

Take a moment to thank the first responders who respond to crashes, emergencies and roadside incidents day and night across Australia. Leave your message in Fortem Australia’s Gratitude Gallery.
