When someone goes missing, first responders and volunteers across Australia work tirelessly to help bring them home.
Today is Day 4 of Fortem Australia’s 10 Days of Gratitude, recognising the people involved in search and rescue efforts.
From police and SES crews to dog squads, aerial support teams and volunteers, these responders dedicate countless hours to searching for people in cities, bushland, waterways and remote locations.
Their work requires resilience, determination and hope, often in difficult and emotionally demanding circumstances.
Search and rescue operations can continue for long hours across challenging terrain and conditions, with responders working tirelessly to support families and communities during times of uncertainty and fear.
Today we thank the people who continue searching when families need them most.
We also acknowledge the loved ones who support these responders behind the scenes.
When families are facing uncertainty, these first responders and volunteers continue showing up with determination, hope and compassion.
Help us thank the first responders and volunteers who continue searching when families need them most.
