Getting lost or having a family member or friend go missing can be incredibly distressing, but we are so lucky that there are so many first responder agencies, including volunteers, that are ready to step in and help.
Today is Day 4 of Fortem’s 10 days of gratitude – a day to say thank you to all the first responders who search for us when we are lost.
The 10 days of gratitude is a celebration of all that first responders do to support our communities ahead of Thank a First Responder Day on Wednesday 11 June.
Now in its sixth year, Thank a First Responder Day creates a clear and resounding voice of gratitude for the frontline workers and volunteers who do so much, often for very little thanks or recognition. It was created by Fortem Australia, the nation’s leading independent and not-for-profit organisation supporting the mental health and wellbeing of first responders and their families.
When someone goes missing, there are so many first responders who do everything they can to find them, from the local police and detectives who coordinate the search to the many volunteers on the search lines, as well as the other first responders who provide support.
Whether lost in our cities, in the bush or our in the water, there are always first responders ready to assist. To all the first responders out there, the community thanks you for all that you do.
Don’t forget to share your love for all first responders and their families do with our Triple Zero with Heart symbol 0❤️0. Draw it on your hand, snap a photo and share it on social media during the 10 days of gratitude. Let’s get the whole country involved in showing our gratitude! #ThankAFirstResponder #PowerOfThanks #TAFRD
