Not all heroes walk on two feet – many of our first responders are of the furry variety!
Today is Day 5 of Fortem’s 10 days of gratitude – a day to say thank you to all the first responder animals who work with their handlers to help keep us safe.
The 10 days of gratitude is a celebration of all that first responders do to support our communities ahead of Thank a First Responder Day on Wednesday 11 June. Now in its sixth year, Thank a First Responder Day creates a clear and resounding voice of gratitude for the frontline workers and volunteers who do so much, often for very little thanks or recognition. It was created by Fortem Australia, the nation’s leading independent and not-for-profit organisation supporting the mental health and wellbeing of first responders and their families.
From dogs and horses through to cats, animals have long played an important role in our first responder agencies and are well loved by the community.
So today, we give a special shout out to the furry friends who help keep us safe, as well as their handlers. Thank you for your support of the community!
Don’t forget to share your love for all first responders and their families do with our Triple Zero with Heart symbol 0❤️0. Draw it on your hand, snap a photo and share it on social media during the 10 days of gratitude. Let’s get the whole country involved in showing our gratitude! #ThankAFirstResponder #PowerOfThanks #TAFRD
You can also leave a message of gratitude on the Thank a First Responder Day website at Gratitude Gallery – Fortem Australia.
