Emergencies can happen at any time of the day or night which means there are first responders always out there working.
Today is Day 8 of Fortem’s 10 days of gratitude – a day to say thank you to all the first responders who are there both day and night.
The 10 days of gratitude is a celebration of all that first responders do to support our communities ahead of Thank a First Responder Day on Wednesday 11 June.
Now in its sixth year, Thank a First Responder Day creates a clear and resounding voice of gratitude for the frontline workers and volunteers who do so much, often for very little thanks or recognition. It was created by Fortem Australia, the nation’s leading independent and not-for-profit organisation supporting the mental health and wellbeing of first responders and their families.
From doing the night shift to waking up before the sun comes up, giving up their weekends or missing out on their kids’ bedtime routines, first responders make a lot of sacrifices to be there for us.
So to all those first responders working around the clock, we say thank you. And thank you also to the families who so gracefully give up their time with you so you can be there for us.
Don’t forget to share your love for all first responders and their families do with our Triple Zero with Heart symbol 0❤️0. Draw it on your hand, snap a photo and share it on social media during the 10 days of gratitude. Let’s get the whole country involved in showing our gratitude! #ThankAFirstResponder #PowerOfThanks #TAFRD
You can also leave a message of gratitude on the Thank a First Responder Day website at Gratitude Gallery – Fortem Australia.
