Mental health crisis support

Emergency
support

If you or someone you know requires urgent assistance, please call 000 or reach out to
Lifeline at 13 11 14 or the Suicide Call Back Service at 1300 659 467.

Your safety and wellbeing are important, and immediate support is available through these services.

Fortem clinical
support

Fortem Australia is not a crisis or emergency service. Support is only available during business hours and scheduled session times, and no services (including SMS or email) are provided outside of these times. Same-day bookings are unlikely to be available. We encourage anyone needing urgent assistance to call 000 or seek help through the additional crisis support services listed below.

Through our clinical services, we reduce the impact of high-stress roles and improve the wellbeing of first responders and their families. We offer free in-person and telehealth sessions for eligible first responders, their immediate family members and former first responders who have left service within the past 10 years.

Our confidential services include dedicated, evidence-based support and care coordination delivered by experienced psychologists and social workers, operating independently of WorkCover and agency-based supports.

Throughout the year, we can be reached Monday – Friday within business hours to discuss our services or complete an intake. We are unavailable on weekends and public holidays.

To learn more or book a session, visit our clinical services page: Clinical services – Fortem Australia
