Assistant Commissioner Drew Hebbron has more than 30 years of experience in a broad range of ambulance sector roles that include frontline clinical, communications, education, corporate support, leadership and senior executive positions across Queensland and the Northern Territory. He has also undertaken work in chairing whole-of-government committee’s that have contributed to the development of diversity and inclusion plans and outcomes across the Queensland public sector.
After commencing his career with the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) in 2002, he was appointed as Assistant Commissioner of the Gold Coast Region in 2022.
Drew holds a Diploma of Health Science, a Graduate Certificate in Policy Analysis and a Master of Business Administration, in addition to being a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Drew was awarded the QAS Distinguished Service Medal in 2011, and has also been recognised with the National Medal (1st Clasp), the QAS Long Service Medal (1st Clasp) and the National Emergency Medal for service during the 2019 Queensland Bushfires Crisis and 2017 Tropical Cyclone Debbie.
Drew was the Griffith University Business School Outstanding Alumnus Award recipient for 2021.
He has been a champion for change and an advocate for diversity and inclusion for many years.
