Paul is an experienced senior executive with an extensive expertise in fire, emergency, conservation management and training.

As Deputy Chief Officer of the South Australian Country Fire Service (CFS), Paul is responsible for ensuring the CFS’s operational readiness and response capability. He oversees strategic and operational planning, and is sponsor for priority projects.

As Deputy Chief Officer of the South Australian Country Fire Service (CFS), Paul is responsible for ensuring the CFS’s operational readiness and response capability. He oversees strategic and operational planning, and is sponsor for priority projects.

Paul’s work history includes Assistant Commissioner, Director Learning and Development with the NSW Rural Fire Service, and leading fire training, lessons management and succession management programs with the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service.

Paul has extensive incident management skills and experience, with particular interests in incident command, incident forecasting and strategic planning. He has completed seven interstate deployments, and in 2024 led an Australian multi-agency Incident Management Team to British Columbia, Canada.

Paul is a member of the AFAC AIIMS Steering Group and AFAC Emergency Management Professionalisation Scheme Panel.
