Three Peaks Gym has thrown its support behind first responders and their families donating a share of their opening day profits to Fortem Australia.
The family-owned gym in Nambour celebrated the opening of its new facility with a 3-hour workout challenge party, clothing sales and breakfast taco’s – with proceeds supporting both Fortem Australia and Meals on Wheels, Nambour.
The team at Three Peaks chose to support Fortem because of a shared commitment to social connection and wellbeing.
‘We chose to support Fortem as their focus on social connection and wellbeing are a huge part of what we do in the gym,’ said Sam Barnes owner of Three Peaks Gym. ‘We recognise the link between social, physical and mental health being such an important factor in the lives of individuals in these professions.’
The connection is personal for the gym’s founder, a serving Queensland Fire and Emergency Services firefighter, who has seen the value of Fortem’s work firsthand.
‘As a serving firefighter, I have experienced first and second hand the valuable work that Fortem offer to first responders. We just wanted to give a little back to those who support our everyday heroes.’
Fortem extends a huge thank you to the team at Three Peaks for their generosity and for sharing our mission to support the wellbeing of Australia’s first responder community.
